wish list

by Sean Maher

to be able to crawl freely around the walls like an insect
a chair that supports my rotten neck
warm fat flowing through my dead veins, thick
to be able finally to catch a bird and twist it in half
to take back that last one
no more dustpoison in the air killing me
silence
hammer hitting the concrete over and over
to see a mushroom cloud for real
handsome gentleman exiting a restaurant is driveby victim
genitals peeled out from pants and relieved
not to get bored
cleaner floors please
something I actually WANT to eat
bass rumble exciting
great physical strength
take a shower of bullets in the chest laughing
a drug to make one feel clean, bacteria-free
a shave and a haircut
to strike terror in the souls of all my friends
better shows on tv
easier to read long books
no need for a revolution
doctors watching out for me all the time
warmth without the sun (perhaps electric?)
no charge, mac, it's on me
a handshake, firm but supple (I am the stronger man)
the fleurescent light flickers and dies
leaving him alone in the dark

To the top.
