ePortfolio at San Francisco State University

Welcome to Yukiko Spera Isoya's ePortfolio

“My mission is to help others through service: I’d like to better someone’s day and my own by sharing my skills and resources as much as possible.”

I am a senior at San Francisco State University, pursuing Bachelor of Arts degree in Consumer and Family Sciences with emphasis in Nutrition/Foodservice Management.

While pursuing my studies in CFS, I had the opportunity to work at a student run fine dining restaurant on campus, The Vista Room. I enjoyed the experience so much that I returned as an intern this semester. At the Vista Room, I have gained hands-on knowledge of fine dining restaurant operation both inside the kitchen and the dining room. Currently, I am training to become a student manager for Spring 2008 semester.

Through my experiences in the Vista Room, I’ve come to discover an interesting industry of Hospitality Management. I am currently pursuing a minor in Hospitality Management and am affiliated with two Hospitality Management student organizations. Also, I have had the opportunity to work on a large upscale fundraiser called Taste of the Bay, with fifty organizational participations and more than four hundred guests.

By participating in planning this event, I’ve come to realize that I love event planning, especially working with restaurants. My dream career is Catering or Banquet Director at a fine dining restaurant, and I would like to open my own catering business someday.
