Personal Statement
Welcome to my eportfolio!
As a graduate from the San Francisco State University Master of Public Administration, I acquired both technical and interpersonal skills and knowledge, strengthening who I am professionally and personally.
I gained technical knowledge and expertise in public policy, organizational behavior, management, budgeting, research methods, microeconomics, and human resources.
The MPA program has enhanced my knowledge and experience of interpersonal skills. I learned to accept and learn from criticism, I improved my communication and collaboration skills, developed time management techniques, and transformed my leadership skills.The program has also expanded my knowledge of the workplace. I now have a comprehensive understanding of organizational dynamics, I am a creative problem solver, and I know the importance of motivating employees' and creating a positive work environment.
My immediate career goal is to find a position with a nonprofit or local government agency as a program manger or researcher. I would like my skills, knowledge, and experience to contribute to the overall success of a results driven organization that is creating positive change in bay area communities. In the long term, I hope to advance within an organization to a director level position where I can influence program creation and modification, using my creativity and problem solving abilities to develop innovative solutions to social problems impacting our communities.
