Who We Are
The Wordsmiths Guild was organized to foster on-campus community within
the Creative Writing program at San Francisco State University and to
function as a student advocacy group and facilitator between graduate
students and the Creative Writing Department and university.
We are lobbying for much-needed improvements to the program, including more classes, computers, study spaces, and additional adjunct faculty.
Our volunteers are keeping the Poetry Center Reading Room open 10am-9pm
M-Th, so that graduate students have a place to meet, socialize, read,
and simply chill out between classes. We also hold parties each semester,
giving everyone a chance to meet and get acquainted.
We are working on this Web site, intended to give you easy access to department information and updates on upcoming events and action items.

Get Involved
All Creative Writing Graduate Students at SF State are automatically members of the Union. The best way to get involved is to attend one of our meetings and let us know your interests, or simply email us at the Guild. Volunteers earn 3 units of credit per semester.
