Writing Skills
When I did my first Master in Political Science, I learned to explain and discuss complicated theories in lengthy papers. The Public Administration Program, on the contrary, taught me to write about theories and case studies in a very precise and concise form. Especially through the recurrent assignments of writing memos, I learned to concentrate on the most important details and explain them in a very accessible format.
The following three documents give an insight to my writing skills. The first paper is written in memo style and addresses some of the underlying causes which led to the fatal accident of the Space Shuttle Columbia in 2003. For the second and third paper, I drafted a policy on accessible information technology. Interestingly, I had one year later the chance to participate in the drafting of the actual SF State policy on accessible web technology. The fourth paper is a case study about Philadelphia's plan to provide wireless internet access to its citizens.
