Professional Skills

Momentarily, I am working as a Web Accessibility Consultant at SF State. The job offers many opportunities to use my new learned school knowledge in the "real life". I utilized my new skills from strategic planning, management of information systems, and budgeting with great success.

On my first job in 1999, I developed and managed a project focusing on the use of new and old media in teaching high schools students on racism and environmental problems. I learned to develop and organize a project with many different collaboration partners. I took care of most aspects of the project such as finding sponsors, marketing, program planning, inviting collaboration partners and the evaluation of the program.

On the same job, I became the "Accidental Techi". Even though, everything I knew on information technology was self trained, I took care of the computers, software, network, website and computer training for the organization. I liked it so much that I went to school and became a multimedia designer. I worked for a couple of years as a freelancer, creating web sites and giving computer trainings. During that time I learned to work independently and to improve my time management.

My last job in Germany focused on eLearning in the higher education setting. I worked at the University of Bremen and, in collaboration with the instructors, implemented eLearning scenarios in the curricula. We used different eLearning tools and media and evaluated the effectiveness of different eLeaning scenarios. I became more proficient in project planning and management, instructional design, research, program evaluation and collaboration between diverse people.
