Professional Skills

As previously mentioned, I work for United Way of the Bay Area with a program called Earn It! Keep It! Save It! (EKS). This program manages over 100 free tax preparation sites throughout the seven counties in the Bay Area that are serviced by UWBA. This has been a very fulfilling job and I have been able to apply many of my learned knowledge and skills from school to my work. Further, working on a community based project has led me to realize that this work makes me happy. My goal is to direct a community based non-profit organization.

As part of my job with EKS, I have been able to write grants, grant reports as well as make presentations regarding our program to funders, volunteers and other interested parties. Every year our program is able to present our results at a regional convening attended by all of our program coordinators that come from all over the Bay Area.
