Writing Skills
The MPA program required students to develop their writing skills through developing professional quality projects, plans, budgets, memos, and documents. This, combined with work experience, makes me feel confident in my abilities. I have drafted documents individually, as part of teams, and paired with other students. I also have experience developing human resource documents such as job descriptions, new policies, written warnings, and performance evaluations. This was required in my role as a Program Manager of a large non-profit. Finally, I have experience in responding to questions or concerns held by supervisors as part of my role as a Shop Steward.
