SYLLBUS

DESCRIPTION

The courses in the Clerical Accounting Program were designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs in accounting and related fields.

 

CERTIFICATE

REQUIREMENTS

Student must attend all classes, Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 12:30pm, and if required by the instructor attend Keyboarding lab on Mondays & Wednesdays from 12:45 – 3:15.

GRADING PROCEDURES

Students must complete assignments, final and courses with a passing grade of 70%.

 

Each student is responsible for participating in classroom activities and assisting fellow students when appropriate.

 

 

 

 

EXAMS & FINAL

 

Exams are given every Friday.  Make-up Exam will be given the following Monday in the Keyboarding lab at 1:00pm. It is the student’s responsibility to attend Keyboarding lab to make-up exam (failure to attend will result in a zero grade).

 

All students are required to take midterm and finals. Students who fail to take midterm and final will not receive a certificate.

 

GRADING CRITERIA

A          100 – 90%

B            89 – 80%

C            79 – 70%

D            69 – 60%

F            59% or below

INTERNSHIP

To increase job opportunity, students are strongly advised to complete 100 hours of internship. Students are responsible for obtaining an internship.

ATTENDANCE & TARDIES

  • Students are allowed to miss three classes a quarter. After the third unexcused absence, student’s grade will drop. Example: From Grade A to B.
  • Students are required to submit doctor’s note within two days (48 hours) to all instructors (failure to do so will result in an unexcused absence). It is the students’ responsibility to sign all attendance forms.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to be on time. Excessive tardies will result in an unexcused absence.

 

CELL PHONE USE

Cell phone use is prohibited in class.  Students are responsible for turning off (on vibrate) cell phones. Students will be asked to leave if asked more than one.
