Advising
SSS advisors meet regularly with their respective students. Each advisor provides academic as well as personal counseling to her respective student. Much of the work done with students involves stress and time management, and improving study and test taking skills. As liaisons between the student and the university, advisors often act as referral agents to university resources and departments. The advisors also serve as mentors to the students, testimony to the evolving nature of their work. In addition, advisors utilize career counseling techniques, goal setting, and major and graduate school advising, as well as creating innovative workshops tailored to their student's needs.
Advising Policy
