SONY's ugly lie

Either Sony just doesn't have a clue or they think their customers are idiots*. See question 6 from the Content Protection area of Sony's FAQ. They claim XCP's software is not malware and that the user is notified in the EULA. Wrong and wrong.

*In an NPR audiocast, Thomas Hessa, PRESIDENT of Sony BMG's Global Digital Business, said, "Most people, I think, do not even know what a Rootkit is, so why should they care about it?"

Sony's bad deads continue...

Mark Russinovich reports more about Sony's Dangerous Decloaking Patch, EULAs, and Phoning Home in his blog. Perhaps Sony should hire Rove for some spin, eh? Better yet, how about Sony clean up its act and make good for all those people who now have compromised computers!
