Intel AMT (Active Management Technology) any tine soon?

So, according to eweek, the big boys are staying away from Intel's new Active Management Technology claiming that they just don't hear their customers asking for it. Seriously? Lenovo, HP, and Dell's customers aren't asking for technology to make workstation management easier? These hardware guys are nuts saving a few pennies or bucks per unit which if spent may translate into more (higher margin) server and workstation sales. Here's how Intel describes AMT:
A major barrier to greater IT efficiency has been removed. Now, corporate IT departments can remotely discover, heal and protect networked computing assets, regardless of system state. Even with a crashed hard drive or locked operating system, the IT technician can still access the platform for remote asset, inventory, and software management, or remote diagnostics and recovery procedures.
Who wouldn't want to get notified of a failing hard drive before it takes its data with it? Yes, there are products that will do this already and no this isn't the be-all-end-all, but the closer we get to making this standard and ubiquitous the better off everyone is (including the shareholders of the hardware companies).

IEBlog : Netscape 8 and Internet Explorer's XML Rendering

From IEBlog : Netscape 8 and Internet Explorer's XML Rendering:

We’ve just confirmed an issue that has started to be reported on newsgroups and forums that after installing Netscape 8 the XML rendering capabilities of Internet Explorer no longer work. That means that if you navigate in IE to an XML file such as an RSS feed http://msdn.microsoft.com/xml/rss.xml or an XML file with an XSLT transformation applied then rather than seeing the data you are presented with a blank page.

What's that smell in HSS?

Entering HSS this morning I was greeted by an unpleasant smell of what I'd describe as rotting pumpkins. Others think is smells like burning tires or maybe skunk. Whatever it turns out to be all I can say is it is nauseating and distracting.
