Homework grades will count 55% of your grade. Homework assignments are usually given every week. Typically, your assignment consists of 4 - 6 problems. In each assignment (starting with HW #2) only three problems are corrected. These three problems will be chosen randomly by the instructor. Each graded problem worth 3 points, for a total of 9 points per assignment. Partial credits are given.
No late homework accepted for grading in any case!
The two lowest homework scores are dropped, so two homeworks can be missed without affecting your grade. Students are encouraged to discuss assigned problems in class.
Three midterm exams will count 45% of your grade (15% each). These exams will be given during entire class period. You will be notified two weeks in advance about the exact date of each exam.
There will be no final examination.
