The most effective attributes (characteristics) of the instructor's teaching were:
He has showed great communication with the class by giving timely feedback, posting reminders via ilearn, and by setting up extra credit class time throughout the semester for those who like the structure of a classroom setting.
Even though this is an online or non-classroom course the Professor still offered class meetings (with bonus points). Prof. Sengupta is also very quick to respond to emails which is a PLUS.
Even though it was an intership class, we still had to write blogs on ilearn to review what really is going on.
open to all kinds of ideas for the final project (the marketing plan). i wasn't afraid to brainstorm and think outside the box.

Very open and approachable with students. Wants to help you in whatever way he can. Provides good feedback in a timely manner.
Professor Sengupta did make himself available on three different occasions to answer student questions in person, unfortunately the times did not work with my work schedule, but I thought that it was very proactive of him to offer to meet in a online class. He was also quick to get back to me with questions and concerns I had and was willing to work with the concerns my boss had about company information.

Open to a lot of viewpoints and very helpful in regards to approaching problem definition for course. Feedback he gave was highly effective. Patient also.
The way he structured the course. Professor Sengupta was also very eager to help us whenever we needed assistance. I liked how we could connect with classmates through forums updating them with the status of our internship, great idea! I also liked how he offered extra credit for attending class to discuss our internship concerns.

Those attributes of this instructor's teaching which I think should be improved are:
Sengupta does not give clear notes on his assignments or a clear definition of what he wants out of us. His class is not flexible enough to deal with the problems that come up in internships, like projects being scraped or focus in the company being changed
I would like to see more class time options.

harsh grader on outlines... you should've given more of a head's up about how you'd be grading them . my friends and i all had awful grades on the outlines because we had to cut them down to 1 pg, but then were penalized for not being specific enough! how specific can i be with one page?

a mandatory class at the end of the semester (before finals) would be nice just so everyone could meet and talk about internships and network. Choice of Mon/Tue gathering.
More timely feedback. Clearly state in advance some of the posting requirements.
It would be great if he was more detailed in what he is looking to receive from us.

internship class not much he can really do
Setting up one or two mandatory class meetings so that we can network with one another as a class and learn what marketing career options are here in the SF Bay Area.

I like the use of extra credit drop in meetings and use of forums- allows you to see what your classmates internships are which you can use to network.

The extra credit meetings were on only Tuesday Thursdays which was not fair to me because i commute and only come Monday Wednesday and Friday. You should be considerate to this situation because i work part time, go to school full time, and have my internship. lots to do, pleas e make this accommodation in the future.

Also an online lecture to help us find opportunities or something additional aid would be useful.
More direction on what we can be doing or implementing towards our internship.
Give us examples of what kind of problems to look for in our internship.
