The most effective attributes (characteristics) of the instructor's teaching were:
Knows the subject very well. Can relate to current business trends. Grades/sends feedback promptly.
Professors Sengupta has a fantastic ability to communicate. he is very engaging and is a good listener. He creates an exciting, fun atmosphere to learn in. I would consider Prefessor Sengupta to be the best Professor I have had in the five semesters I've been attending the program.
Class involvement and discussions
The interactive exercises that we did in class were very effective. The discussions with real life examples were also great because it made me really understand and apply the concepts.
His passion for the subject and encouragement of class participation and mostly positive feedback.
Great examples of marketing theories and concepts
Command of the subject
He tries to facilitate discussion throughout the class and offers different opportunities to participate. Is available to students outside of class.
Organization, Dedication, Passion
His knowledge of the subject matter
superb and thorough understanding of business and marketing strategies
promotes class participation. very approachable. good feedback
Open-minded and knowledgable
Good mix of cases, articles & chapter readings. I liked that he asked students which topics they want to address rather than just going through the whole material. I liked how he encouraged everyone to participate.

Those attributes of this instructor's teaching which I think should be improved are:
I have no constructive feedback for the professor regarding improvements. Please see my comments regarding his effectiveness.
I do not see a need for any improvements
The feedback wasn't thorough enough. I would have liked the feedback to be more specific so that i could have been better able to make improvements in the future.
Clearer, more detailed explanation of grading scale for case memos and what type of curve there is.
His obsession win Apple is palpable in every lecture. Other company and industry discussions would be helpful. Grading is clear but instructions for assignments could be further condensed for more understanding.
Guest Speaker, Examples of Excellent Strategic Markeking Plans, both professional and from other students
none

The course could be improved by:
didnt like how the final project was weighted too high towards overall grade(40%). Had trouble with getting a real company to let us do a marketing plan on them. i think too much time is spent on finding a company. time should be focused on honing the craft of strategic marketing where the topic would be on premade case study examples. so the data gathering would be minimal and the focus would be making a great presentation.
I do not see a need for any improvements
This course is great and has definitely helped me to understand marketing strategy at a deeper level.
Participation grade for each and every class can seem daunting. Overall participation grade can seem more fair.
No class participation points, flexibility in attendance
Textbook is just average. A number of figures make little sense, although, the structure and flow are good.
Ensuring that Students have read chapter. I value the input from other students, and it was clear some folks were sleepwalking through unprepared and getting away with it.
