One of the best things about the
MPA program is the opportunity to work in teams with
classmates. I particularly appreciated the opportunity
to work closely with a group of four talented classmates
and Professor Sheldon Gen, one of the best educators I
have come across in my academic career. We performed
statistical analysis on San Francisco Food Bank survey
data to identify who the hungry in San Francisco are and
where food insecurity is high. We met regularly outside
of class and exchanged e-mail every week to ensure that
progress was made. After the semester ended, one of my
teammates and I presented our
multi-method research paper
and a summary of our major findings to the SF Food Bank's deputy
executive director, director of programs and senior
program coordinator.
