Knowledge of Public Administration
San Francisco’s
Public Administration program thoroughly schooled me in both theory of
Public
Administration and the application of Public Administration.
Regarding theory, the program taught me such
concepts such as the history of the discipline, its influence on the
public
sector and non-profit sector, and the influence on the roles and
objectives of
a public or non-profit sector employee. These
theories will help me recognize and fully understand the goals of the
organization I work for, and help me understand my role in an
organization, and
how I can use my role to better achieve their goals.
My knowledge of the
application of
Public Administration is evident now that I am able to perform a
variety of
real-world applications, such as a budget analysis, cost-benefit
analysis, and qualitative
and quantitative research. These
applications will come in handy and will allow me to solve more complex
problems I encounter in the professional world.
