Personal Statement

Lynn Canyon Bridge

As a San Francisco native, I attended grade school and high school in San Francisco.  I then enrolled in the Urban & Regional Planning program at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where I developed knowledge in field of city planning and acquired the skills necessary to work as a city planner.  Upon receiving my Bachelors of Science Degree, I returned to San Francisco and enrolled in the Public Administration program at San Francisco State University to further my knowledge of the government and its functions and acquire the skills necessary to be a valuable asset in the public sector.

The Public Administration program has made me knowledgeable in a variety of fields, including human resources, policy analysis, and budgets.  In addition, the program has hone my writing, presentation, and teamwork skills.  Because of the Public Administration program, I now better understand the challenges that the government must deal with and the solutions needed to serve the people.  With a Masters Degree in Public Administration, along with my Bachelor's Degree in Urban & Regional Planning, I am now a highly-knowledgeable and skilled professional who will make a difference in the organization I work in and to the people I serve.
