May, Robert (1936- )


 

Australian scientist. He studied at Sydney University, taught maths at Harvard (1959-61), physics at Sydney (1962-73), and was professor of biology and zoology at Princeton (1973-88), before moving to Oxford. He is one of a growing number of scientists who have conrtributee to chaos theory, his work having applications in ecology and public health.
