Personal Statement
I attended San Francisco State University to obtain my undergraduate degree; majoring in social work. During my undergraduate years, I achieved a university scholarship as well as placement on the dean’s list. After graduating, I helped implement home and community based waivers for the Medicaid disabled and elderly program in New Mexico. I then acted as director of social services for a nursing and rehabilitation center. With the clinical experience that I had received with my social work degree, I felt that I was better prepared to develop further skills to manage programs, and implement policy. After my positive experience at San Francisco State for my undergraduate degree, I decided to pursue the Masters of Public Administration program. Upon completing this degree, I have found that I have developed a well rounded set of public management skills that will assist me in managing, developing and implementing public programs. I consider myself a dedicated and motivated individual who can positively contribute to any organization that I am connected to.
