Welcome Pre-Health Professions students! We at SFSU P.H.P.S.A are as excited as you are to get into the field of health under our prospective professions. All of us here are applying to professional programs such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, etc. and have been in exactly your position, as an undergraduate student. Most of you visiting this website for first time are freshman and are in need of serious guidance. Some of you may be sophomores, juniors or seniors, in which case we have a lot of work to do within a smaller timeframe. In this section of the website we will attempt to outline the most successful routes, as there are many, to achieve the end goal of acceptance to your chosen professional school. The journey will be long and arduous, which is why we are here to help you by serving as one of your most powerful undergraduate resources.
Although we cannot guarantee your admittance we can certainly provide you with the tools to make your application as competitive as possible while steering you clear of the most common mistakes made by undergraduate students. Some of which include mistakes made when choosing classes, studying for exams, finding jobs/volunteering/internships, getting advice and general academic and extra-curricular decisions.
For those of you who have officially become a member of P.H.P.S.A we applaud you for your foresight and commitment with regard to your future. As you navigate this site, specifically this section, please note that these are merely suggested pathways and that each person has individual needs that can only be met when sitting down with an advisor. With that being said use this site as a resource to making general decisions and reserve very specific decision making to be done with the personal help of one our trained H.P.A.C or P.H.P.S.A. advisors along with your major advisor.
