Magnolia wood

This set is of plant cells and tissues. All photos were taken by holding my camera up to the eyepiece of a compound microscope in Comparative Anatomy of Vascular Plants course at SFSU with Dr. Bob Patterson.

Madiinae cross-section

This set is of composite flower morphology and all photos were taken by holding my camera up to the eyepiece of a dissecting microscope. My intent was to photograph key morphological characters that differentiate composite tribes from one another. I included California native tribes, as well as tribes often used for horiculture and gardening.

Camissonia claviformis

This set is of flowers from the Plant Taxonomy Low Desert field trip that took place in the last week of March 2008. We start in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and end up in Short Canyon, which is north of Ridgecrest, five days later. Stops along the way included Joshua Tree National Park and the Kelso Dunes.
