JAPANESE QUINCE
chaenomeles speciosa
A low spreading shrub or small tree with spines that is quite hardy and very ornamental since it tends to flower in winter. The fruit is green-yellow and speckled, about 2 to 2 1/2" around, with a characteristic pleasant quince odor.
