citrofortunella mitis
Common Names: Calamondin, Golden Lime
Native to China. An important citrus juice source in
the Philippines, it has an upright growth habit, very shapely, almost
thornless; highly productive and one of the cold-hardiest citrus. It makes
an excellent ornamental, can be kept in a container or shaped by pruning
to make a landscape plant. The small fruits, with red-orange rind and
orange flesh, hold on the tree well. They are used for juice when not
fully mature; when mature, skin becomes easily separated.
