Personal Statement

Having grown up in the developing world, I have always been interested in exploring the reasons of  disparities and instable economic phenomena in these countries. Based on my prior experience in public policy field, I realized that the thin line between creating prosperity and causing scarcity is often drawn by effective leadership in public policy management, which creates a value-added and enhances that value in the long-term by implementing sound practices.

Given the rigor of this ambitious goal, I have to be equipped with the best public policy toolkit as well as with a global perspective. To that end, I decided to pursue my graduate studies in MPA Program at SFSU with an emphasis in Nonprofit administration. When I look back over my last two years, I can genuinely assure that the competencies I acquired at SFSU helped me a lot to be more innovative in my professional approaches as well as to extend my understanding of effective nonprofit management. Every interaction with my professors and classmates made me face new challenges to refine my merits since the concept of extending students’ frontiers is the main milestone in MPA Program. I was fortunate to be a member of this intellectually stimulating environment because I can imagine my career path more clearly thanks to my studies. Having this roadmap at my disposal, I embrace the noble cause of making a meaningful difference in public policy management and nonprofit administration as my compass. As compelling as this goal sounds, graduating from MPA program smoothed my career path and offered the necessary soil, on which my goals and dreams for my community can flourish.
