Knowledge of Public Administration
As a current employee in the Nonprofit sector this program has
allowed me to gain an in-depth understanding that the role of nonprofit organizations
and
governmental agencies have in the delivery of necessary goods and
services.
A variety of courses and assignments demonstrate my knowledge of public and nonprofit administration. The foundation classes for the Public Administration program include organizational behavior, human resources, budgeting, microeconomics and a two-semester research methods course. Throughout the Nonprofit Administration emphasis I took courses on nonprofits roles, fund development, nonprofit strategic management and leadership.
This coursework combined both theory and practice which has provided the opportunities to become well-rounded in the fields of Public and Nonprofit Administration.
An assortment of assignments such as a case study for organizational behavior, a policy analysis on No Child Left Behind and a review of organizational commitment represent my knowledge of Public Administration.
Some assignments that demonstrate my understanding of Nonprofit Administration include a book review on the role of foundations and a synthesis of fund development in Bay Area organizations.
