Personal Statement
"I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no "brief candle" to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations". ~George Bernard Shaw
Welcome to my ePortfolio.
This ePortfolio is designed to present my skills and knowledge as a graduate of San Francisco State University's Master of Public Administration program. Throughout this program I have had the opportunity to gain an understanding and knowledge of Public Administration, specifically devoting my studies on Nonprofit Administration. This program has enabled me with the necessary skills to become not only an effective manager but a strong leader.
My current interests and work revolve around the struggle of the underprivileged urban child and family. I intend to invest my time now and into the future to ensure that our children have the opportunities available to succeed in an ever changing world. I intend to carry out this passion by working with and for organizations that also seek to provide children and their families with the necessary services and resources to meet their full potential.
Within my current position I have also had the opportunity to provide mentoring and leadership development to young adults, most of them first generation college students. This experience has inspired me to continue to invest my efforts in supporting this group of individuals. In the future I would like to continue to provide these types of supportive relationships to allow them to become the future leaders of our communities.
