Team Work/Leadership

"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." – John Quincy Adams

Teamwork is a crucial skill in many professional environments. SFSU’s MPA program encourages teamwork through multiple group projects, providing students the opportunity to work collaboratively as they progress toward their degrees.

In my first semester, I participated in a team project in which we created a work force plan for the US Forestry. Subsequently, I have been given the opportunity to work in a variety of teams and partnerships. With single partners I have produced major papers discussing different aspects of the federal Abstinence-Only Sex Education policy; first a research project chronicling the effect of the policy on funding to San Francisco-based harm reduction HIV/AIDS nonprofits, and then a comprehensive policy briefing. I have also had the privilege of leading teams in the creation of a both Strategic Plan and Development Case Statement for The Center for Sex & Culture. Each of these documents is linked below.
