Presentation Skills
"It is the responsibility of
intellectuals to speak the truth and expose lies." – Noam Chomsky

Sharing knowledge through verbal and
visual presentations is a critical skill the MPA program
has enabled me to develop. Throughout the program, I
have made numerous solo and team presentations in areas
such as research findings, policy analyses,
microeconomics, and fund development. While I have yet
to present outside of a classroom setting, as I
progressed toward my degree I made at least a dozen solo
and team presentations reporting on research findings,
policy analyses, microeconomic analyses, strategic
planning, nonprofit resource development and other
public administration topics.
I feel the MPA program has helped me
become more competent and comfortable as a public
speaker in preparation for my career. Additionally, I
have become more adept at creating visual presentations,
skills I have put to practical use in an organizational
context, assisting with preparations for board meetings.
Linked below are 2 presentations I co-created as part of
team projects, as well as the presentation of the
results of my research project on the efficacy of
Abstinence-only Sex Education.
