Niels Teunis,
Ph.D. is an anthropologist and Assistant Professor in Human
Sexuality Studies. He is currently conducting research on racial
dynamics in the gay community in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has produced
two plays on this topics, performed in the community, to help fight racism.
He has conducted research
on, and published about, the position of Surinamese people in the
Dutch health care system, on the lives of homosexuals in Dakar/Senegal,
and on strategies for safe-sex among gay men. His dissertation investigates
the historical background of the current political stale mate in a small
town in Western Mali.

Niels Teunis is editing
a book that brings together the contributions of many sexuality
researchers who are committed to make their excellent work matter for
positive social change. The book will be titled: Sexual Inequalities
and Social Justice.
Niels Teunis teaches
