Traveling is one of my favorites things to do. I traveled to the western European countries in July 2005, with my two daughters Aya and Alli, my sister Dina, her daughter Angela and son Josh, and my sister Cecilia.
We flew direct to London to visit my Dad's cousin, aunt Amy and her family. I like the experience of taking public transportation, which are the double deck buses and underground trains with several color coded train destinations. Also, we visited several places in London, such as; London Bridge, Big Ben, Winchester Abbey, Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Madam Tussaud wax museum (photos), Harrold's, shopping malls, and lots more. Then, we traveled to the other three western European countries, Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam by Euro trains. Our first Euro train stop was at Paris, which is a beautiful city of mostly historic landmarks, museums, majestic statues, paintings, elegant architectural building designs, and shopping malls. Our second Euro train stop was Brussels, which is the European countries trade center. I love Brussels chocolates and waffles. We took the Brussels tour bus and walked around downtown proper, the lace factory, last expo exhibits, and the Prince Palace. Click here to view some of my travel photos in Brussels, Belgium.
The third and last Euro train stop was at Amsterdam. Of course, we never missed the boat ride around Amsterdam, visited several museums and shops, as well as dined at the Amsterdam hard rock café. When you visit Amsterdam, you will notice that they have the largest parking lots for bicycles. Click here to view some of my travel photos in Amsterdam, Netherland.
Traveling for me is mostly educational, which is to learn other cultural heritage outside the US, new places to visit, and new faces to see. It is so good to be back home, in the US that I missed the 24 hours convenience of shopping at Safeway or at Walgreens, and just to buy a slurpee at 7Eleven at any time.
I will continue to travel with my family to visit relatives in the US and other national parks and best places to visit in the US. For sure, I will need to navigate the World Wide Web to plan my travel. Later, on a part time bases, I plan to volunteer in teaching children in the Far Eastern countries to share my Western academic and technology education.
