I strive to participate in work environments where I can be a member of a dedicated team. My career objective is to contribute to the field of sign language interpreting by creating media for: interpreter training and raising public awareness about interpreting as a whole.

Interpreting for deaf students in undergraduate and graduate level courses, deaf staff members and campus events; additional responsibilities include participating in committees and activities that promote the mission of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services department

1997-Present: Freelance Interpreter, San Francisco Bay Area; New York City
Community interpreting, educational, post-secondary, professional and informal meetings, medical, therapeutic settings, workshops, trainings, video relay, international sporting and cultural events

2000-2002: HIP Program, Oakland Deaf/Hard of Hearing Youth Project, Oakland, CA
Communications Coordinator; interpreter for staff and program events, interpreter coordinator and advocate, administrative assistant, art instructor for deaf students in after school program

1996-1997: Berkeley Place, Deaf-Hearing Project, Berkeley, CA
Social service counselor/advocate for deaf and hard of hearing people; case management, information and referrals, interpreter referrals, legal advocacy, community education and organizing

Interpreted for deaf students in mainstreamed classes and provided tutoring when needed in the deaf education classroom.
