Writing Skills
The MPA program prepares students to develop
strong written communication skills through various
assignments and projects. In my courses, I have had
several opportunities to improve this skill by writing
memos, policy briefs, and
program evaluation reports. These assignments and projects
have turned me into a better writer because I have real,
practical experience writing result-oriented public
documents. Learning how to write in different styles is
important in public administration because it is a way
to inform different stakeholders about new ideas and
issues.
