Welcome Back Aug 31 2007

The new semester is underway! The SFSU MA would like to welcome back all returning members and officers and invite anyone intrested in joining the MA to check out the registration page for information about joining the San Francisco State University Marketing Association! Membership is open to all majors.

Marketing Graduation Ceremony may 22 2007

This is a friendly The Marketing Graduation Ceremony is tomorrow at 5:30 pm! I'm very excited and I hope that this will be a memorable event for everyone. Just as a reminder:

* Graduates please try to get to the Towers Conference Center at 5:00pm to make sure that your guests will have seats, as seating is limited. Additionally, please allow for time to find the conference center if you and/or your guests don't already know where it is. Students will be sitting in the first few rows, which will be reserved for them.

* The Towers Conference Center is near Parking Lot 19, so you may advise your guests to park there or nearby.

* There will be signs around campus to point to the direction of the Towers Conference Center. I have attached a map of where it is located (It is behind the student services building, and on the ground level).

* Please wear your cap and gown or formal attire.

* There are no physical tickets, as we will have a list of students' names and their guests' names, and we will mark off each person as they come in. Please let me know if you have any other questions. You may send me an e-mail or call me. I hope everything is going well with everyone, and I will see you all tomorrow! Have a great afternoon! Graduation Reminder  may 8 2007

This is a friendly reminder that the Marketing Graduation Ceremony applications are due this Thursday, May 10th, by 5pm to the Marketing departmentin SCI 300. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 23rd, from 5:30 - 7:30pm . The cost is $7 per person, with a limit of 5 guests. Please see below for additional information including the application form, and map and directions to the Conference Center.

GRADUATION  april 20 2007

Congratulations Fall 2006, Spring 2007 and Summer 2007 Grads!

The Marketing Department and the Marketing Association are co-sponsoring the 4 th Annual Marketing Graduation Ceremony on May 23rd, 5:30 -7:30pm, in the Towers Conference Center. Our 2006 Graduation event was an extremely successful event with a room full of graduates and their families and friends. You are cordially invited to attend in your cap and gown and get your named called while you officially walk across the stage.

You and your guest(s) are invited to participate in this wonderful and memorable event. Graduates will receive a certificate from the Marketing Department and the SFSU Marketing Association will give active members an award. Refreshments and hors-d�oeuvres will be provided. There will be a $7 fee for each person attending this event.

Please drop off the application form to the Marketing Department in SCI 300 by 5pm on May 10 th so we can get an accurate headcount and make all necessary arrangements. Please print legibly. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer at jla@sfsu.edu.

Volunteers needed  mar 16 2007

Hi everyone!

Hope you guys are all having a great week. The Marketing Career and Internship Fair is just two weeks away and we have some announcements:

We are in need of more volunteers. If you have already replied back and expressed interested in become a volunteer for the Career Fair, but haven't heard back from us, please contact Eduardo Ordonez at eddy.op (at) gmail. For others who are interested, please let Eduardo know and he will schedule you accordingly.Also, as a reminder, you can still get your cover letters and/or resumes to be part of the employee booklet. It's a great chance for employers to review your resume before the fair even gets started! Get them ready and send them to MA Officer Kalee Fulcher at kfulcher16 (at) gmail no later than Thursday, March 22. Good luck!

The Marketing Association is starting this semester with a big bang! We are having another social event this Thursday, Feburary 8th at The Canvas Gallery. It should be a great event!

The Canvas is located at 1200 9th Avenue (at Lincoln) in San Francisco and scheduled to begin at 7:30PM.

We also just launched our first newsletter for the Spring 2007 semester. You can either check it out in PDF form by clicking here or pick up a hardcopy in the hallway of the Business building by the BRC.

Welcome Back II  jan 23 2007

The Marketing Association at San Francisco State University is one of the largest student organizations campus! We strive to get members more involved, providing social events as a networking effort, seminars of professional speakers, and tours of real world companies. We are a collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), one of the largest national associations of professional marketers, which has approximately 500 professional and student chapters in North America alone.

I encourage students from all majors and concentrations to attend any of our events and discover the many opportunities available, as business and marketing are a part of all of our lives and, at the very least, we all need to market ourselves to achieve our career goals. Members of the Marketing Association are enthusiastic, friendly, professionally minded individuals who recognize the importance of preparation and networking; pursuing more than purely what their textbooks have to offer.

I am passionate about the service we provide to the students of SF State and am excited about the great events we have planned for Spring 2007. Hope to see you all soon!

1st Member's Meeting on Tuesday  sep 22 2006

How's it going kids? Ready for our first member's meeting of the semester? I know you are.. Well, it's this tuesday, Sep 26th at 5pm in room 217 of the business building. Guest speakers will include Jim Wong of the Career Center, who will remind us why we chose marketing by going over all the really neat jobs, Teresa Rodriguez Williamson, founder of journey publication Tango Diva, and Money Glover, of $150b market cap drug and consumer health product company GlaxoSmithKline.

We will also discuss the organization itself and some of the opportunities we have for our members this semester. Plus we'll have food. Yes!

Wax+Paint going down tonight!  sep 8 2006

Wow, it's been an exciting first couple of weeks of school! Ok, well maybe exciting isn't the right word.. but definitely eventful and tiring. What better way to take the stress off than to come out and listen to some live music! That's right kids, our first event of the semester is already here. Wax+Paint tonight at The Canvas on 9th Ave + Lincoln in the city. I expect to see everyone who is reading this and is 21+ to be there. Upcoming Events: The MA is sponsoring a Career Skills Seminar on 9/19 put on by the Business Relations Center. This will give you all a chance to gain some skills you can apply in the real business world, as well as meet some experienced professionals. It should be fun.

Our first official social will be next thursday night at The Pub in the César Chavez Student Center. All are welcome to drop by even if you're not 21.

Hey Marketeers! Welcome to State!  aug 28 2006

The end of August is here and that can only mean one thing.. school is back in session. On behalf of the SFSU Marketing Association, I'd like to welcome all the incoming students, returning students, faculty and administration to the 2006 fall semester at San Francisco State University.

We at the MA have some really exciting things in the pipeline over the next few months. As usual, we'll be having 3 members meetings featuring a bunch of guests and industry experts sharing their knowledge with our members. We're also having 3 socials, plus a few other very special events that you won't want to miss (check our calendar regularly for details). All in all, this is definitely going to be one hot semester.

Agenda for the week: The MA will be tabling all week on the first floor of the business building and possibly in front of the César Chavez Student Center. Drop by and say hi!

First Week of School Special: If you catch me either in class, tabling, or anywhere around campus at anytime this week, say 'The MA website is gorgeous' and i'll take you to the pub and buy you a drink. (Valid only for non-members. Must be 21+)
