Award Process Begins: March 28, 2001
During the summer of 2001 (June to August), the National
Nanofabrication Users Network (NNUN) will host a Research
Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program. All
engineering and science students who have a genuine interest in
nanotechnology are eligible if they are entering their junior or
senior year in the fall of 2001. (In other words, you cannot be
graduating before the end of the program in August 2001.)
Also, applicants must be United States citizens or Permanent
Residents. International Students should visit http://www.iie.org
Forty-two undergraduates will be chosen to partake in this
ten-week program offering hands-on nanofabrication research
with applications to chemistry, electronics, materials science,
optics, optoelectronics, physics, and the life sciences. Minority
and female candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
The NNUN is a partnership of five research facilities: Cornell
University, Howard University, the Pennsylvania State
University, Stanford University and University of California at
Santa Barbara. We provide unparalleled opportunities for
researchers from many disciplines and organizations to
fabricate structures utilizing advanced nano- and
micro-fabrication technology.
