Professional Skills

The MPA program at SFSU is geared towards working professionals who actively seek to gain a greater understanding of concepts and skills that are applicable in real world working conditions.  The courses that I have taken at SFSU have allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the financial and organizational complexities of nonprofit and public organizations.   

During my tenure in the program, I have been fortunate enough to gain a greater understanding of nonprofit and public budgeting, by conducting a trend, share, and variance analysis of actual and budgeted data for the organization that I was working for, Budget Analysis. 

In addition to financial management and budgeting skills, I have also worked on gaining greater knowledge of human resource systems, by conducting an attrition forecast for the National Parks Services.
