Team Work/Leadership
My graduate coursework has required many collaborative projects and papers. The ability to work in teams and display leadership qualities is critical for my future in public administration. It is essential that those in management positions are able to rally their team together and invoke a sense of togetherness that inspires cooperation.
I took one online course during my graduate education. This class required that all our assignments be completed in groups. My team partners for the semester lived in Denver, CO and Phoenix, AZ while I live in San Francisco, CA. Because of the distance between us and the quantity of assignments, I learned how to take charge and lead projects. We also learned how to communicate effectively long-distance.
The picture above is of the classroom where I will volunteer in São Paulo, Brazil this Spring. I look forward to the leadership and team experience this will provide for me.
