Personal Statement
Hi I am Kris, the name I am familiar with for over here in the US. However, everything about me started from Thailand. I grew up in the middle-class family as the eldest of two children. After high school I went to the Royal Thai Police Cadet Academy in which I gained much experience about leadership. I had worked as a police sub-lieute
nant, lieutenant and captain in many places with diverse job duties.
I finished my Master’s degree in Social Work at Thammasat University, and then I came here at the US to study in the MPA program.
I will graduate at the end of year 2007, totally two years for me as a student at San Francisco State University. By the time I leave SFSU, I would like to develop theoretical and practical knowledge that prepare me for career life and beyond. I plan to pursue a career in the field of public administration, especially focusing on financial public management and budgeting.
For two years in SFSU, I have significantly gained both academic and nonacademic experience and also have a new hope to help develop better society with fine management.
I have disciplined myself as a hard-working student, enrolling on courses relevant to my aimed career. Also, I create a positive outlook on life and expand upon my leadership skills by taking a leadership class and joining a variety of activities.
I will go back to my home country, Thailand, and again assume my responsibility as a police captain in the Central Investigation Bureau of the Royal Thai Police. With wonderful memory and considerable knowledge from SFSU, I will get through new challenges and make better changes for my life and organization.
