Presentation Skills
"The brain starts working the moment you are born and never stops
until you stand up and speak in public"

When working with the public, oral communication skills are a must. The MPA program places an emphasis on oral presentation skills and provides its students ample opportunities to speak in front of a group of people. In possibly every public administration course, the oral presentation is a core component of the curriculum. The program even has a course, which has integrated into it its lesson plan, a lesson on how to effectively present information orally using Microsoft Power Point. The ability of the speaker to share key learning experiences verbally not only develops that individual's oral communication skills, but presents an opportunity for listeners to absorb and learn information in a different, and sometimes, more effective way. Included in this section of my ePortfolio are examples of class presentations I made during the program:
• Manufacturing Consent Presentation
• AARS, Inc. Budget Presentation
