Writing Skills

Leaders in both the public and private industry have cited writing as one of the most neglected professional skills. The ability to write and communicate effectively is an important skill for public administrators. One of the objectives of SFSU’s MPA program is to “develop students’ skills so they can write effectively and concisely for an audience of professionals.” The MPA program, coupled with my undergraduate and graduate background, has culminated in my ability to communicate effectively with the correct use of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling in multiple written formats including, but not limited to, memos, research proposals, business plans, and formal reports.
