Presentation Skills
A study conducted by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in 1997 found that leaders ranked oral communication first in importance of professional skills. One of the objectives of SFSU’s MPA program is to “develop students’ oral presentation skills so they can effectively present to small and large groups.” Through the MPA program and my work experience, I have developed strong oratorical skills. The ability to explain and present complex information in a variety of settings is one of my major strengths. I have presented at large conferences (20+) for my job. I am proficient in using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel to convey technical information, program proposals, and organizational structure/goals.
