Personal Statement
I was raised in Japan. Living abroad
and studying a second language has broadened my perspective.
In college, my major was law. Through my work experience, I
became interested in policy and governmental issues and
decided to pursue an MPA at SFSU.
The MPA program at SFSU greatly
enhanced my knowledge and understanding of public
administration. Through this advanced education, especially
through the case study method, I learned to merge
theoretical, academic knowledge with professional skills
such as budgeting, professional presentations, research
methods and data analysis, and apply them in real working
situations.
I have taken a full-time position
in the policy planning and analysis division at my current
workplace. I look forward to applying the knowledge
and skills I have learned so far, and hope to continue
learning and expanding my skills in the workplace.
