• Wilson Demo of Dynamic Video control and motion simulator in Director (This shows use of various control commands, and includes some simulators of motion detection by dragging small figures around the screen.  The demos use low quality movies as examples - you could substitue your own as long as you name the members the same as the ones that are in the cast) .  Note the newest version is here motion simulator 20 .  Since it relies on the sample movies in the original demo zip, you should download that first and then move the newest director version 20 to the folder.  Run that instead of 16.  The only difference is that version 20 has the timing feature demo and the multiple people detection. (point to the link, hold down the mouse, and use the copy link as feature)

• Wilson Demo of use of TTC Motion Dection Xtra (this version 17 includes demos to use motion to activate events (includes hot spot detection, image move with person, detect objects (via their color), play instrument by hand gesture)  It is in a zip compressed archive that includes images and sounds necessary for the demos to run.  It is 5.2mb.  The actual working part you will ultimately need to build your projects is much smaller- you can discard the sounds etc once you build your own.** Note still under construction.

• Access index of all files in the course directory.  The fixed version of mac xtra is called something like goodmacxtra.bin 
  
• Wilson demo of modify coordinates routine - this takes a rectangle put in foundlist by ttc and modifies it to your active rectangle on the screen so things can be positioned correctly.  It is a text file.  Copy the active part of it and paste it into your movie script.
• A method for showing video of camera view for troubleshooting motion detection:  TTC has the ability to update a cast member with the video it is seeing.  Even if you don't intend to show that image of the space ultimately in your final piece, it is convenient to see the space and your hot spots to make judgements of where they are in the camera's eye.  To accomplish this you do the following steps:   1.  Create an empty rectangle paint cast member roughly 320x240 - remember which cast member it is (for now lets assume it is 33).  2.  put that cast member as a sprite temporarily on the score in your scene you ultimately will project .  3. Drag it up to the left corner so its coordinates match the (0,0) (320,240) of the video rectangle ttc is grabbing.  4 in your script right after the place you call checknewchange or checkcolor add a new line   - GrabToCast(TrackObj,[rect(0,0,320,240),33])   you would substitute whatever is your cast member.  5  This will put what the camera is seeing into that sprite so you can adjust hot spots, etc.  6.  when you ultimately run the piece you can make that sprite invisible and comment out the line.
• A method for reading presence instead of motion:  TTC can read either presence (against some reference image) or motion (against the last postion of people)  see the presence vs motion fix link:  ttc. readpresence instead of motion.txt
