Pranav Lal

Co-President

 

I have done my Computer Engineering from Mumbai University. I am a 2006 passout from RAIT, DY Patil.
I worked as a Software Developer for the National Stock Exchange. IT for three years.
I am currently pursuing my MBA here at San Francisco State University.
I like reading,swimming and meeting new people.

IGA is in its third year.
IGA's mission is to help students in all possible ways. Its the second year that I have been a part of the IGA board.
The start is slow but I envision IGA to be a platform for all the students to be a one-stop solution to all their professional problems.
A place which provides a great networking opportunities to everyone.
I hope to better help the new students that come in here and help them settle in an entirely new place.

Pulkit Aggarwal

Hi,

My name is Pulkit Aggarwal and I am the co-president of Indian Graduates Association. I have done my bachelors in Electronics and Communication engineering; completing which I began my MBA program at SFSU in fall 2009. My major is Sustainable Business, and my vision for myself is to become an effective manager/leader who would take a company forward while preserving the environment.

I had joined IGA last September and have seen the organization grow tremendously. Thanks to all the previous members who laid the foundation for this organization. And through IGA, my only aim is make the life of us, the students, much more comfortable and easier. I am excited about the year that lies ahead of us.

Ravnish Narula

I am Ravnish Narula. I completed my graduation in Information Technology from Pune, India and I am pursuing MS in Computer Science from SFSU. I really enjoy working with the other IGA board members for our Indian community here in San Francisco.  I want to assist students in all possible ways I can and help IGA to live up to its name.

Hello friends; my name is Manav Gupta. After completing my undergraduate in computer engineering (2006) continued my business for 3 years. I arrived to SFSU in fall 09 and have a general MBA emphasis. Currently, I am holding the treasurer position at IGA and have the pleasure with working with a talented IGA team that is constantly striving to make IGA.

Nilay Patel

Hello,

I am Nilay and I am doing my MS in Computer Science at SF State. I have worked in IT Industry for 2 and half years and I am really looking forward to study new & upcoming technologies here. I am really loving the practical exposure I am getting in various subjects of Computer Science here. Besides study, I am really interested in sports like Cricket, Tennis, Pool, TT etc.

 

I joined IGA Team this season (June '10) and helping IGA to maintain its website. On behalf of IGA, I welcome all the new students and help them settle out here as smoothly as possbile. I hope that the information provided on the website is useful and I give all credits to our previous IGA Team for collecting very useful information which I was able to put up on new website today.

Prof. Ramesh Bollaprogada

Faculty Advisor

Ramesh Bollapragada is an Associate Professor in the Decision Sciences department of the College of Business, San Francisco State University, CA, USA.  Prior to joining SFSU in 2002, he was a Researcher at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies in Holmdel, NJ for six years.  Dr. Bollapragada has a B.Tech. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from India and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Management of Manufacturing and Automation from Carnegie Mellon University.  His research interests are in the areas of scheduling and economic lot-sizing, forecasting, inventory and supply chain optimization, telecommunication network planning, and outsourcing.

           

Ramesh received several academic awards and several management awards during his industrial career: Some important ones include, the distinguished faculty award, “Research Professor of the Year for two consecutive years (2004-2005 and 2005-2006)” at the College of Business- SFSU, and few United States Patents at Bell Labs, Lucent. Ramesh was a Semi-finalist for the Franz Edelman Award in 2008-2009, Finalist for the Wagner Prize in 2003-2004, and his group at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, helped win the INFORMS Prize for the company in 1998. ). He visited over 25 countries on research, teaching and leisure. He presented at over twenty international conferences in U.S. and Europe. In addition, his research is published in over 20 journals, with over a dozen  in top tier journals.
