Loving "I <3 Sketch"

This is a really cool 3d sketching interface created by the developers at University of Toronto. I can only wonder if there is a viewer/reader program as well and if there is any interface/export compatibility with Solidworks/Alias/Pro-E etc.

Any thoughts?

The Designer’s Field Guide to Sustainability

Awesome! This is a really good resource that we should all be able to take advantage of!

"The LUNAR Elements team has recently published “The Designer’s Field Guide to Sustainability”, a tool designed to help all designers and engineers, no matter what their level of experience, design more sustainable products."
-Ecolect

They also make a really good point that none of these are an instant fix or cure but that they are a very good first step in a very complex issue.

Meeting this Wednesday -10/8/08

Sorry, we will NOT be playing Pictionary again this week, but we do have a number of announcements to share with you about our updated Event Calendar.

Also this week, we're going to screen Lee's exclusive interview with Bart Haney of fuseproject. In their discussion, they went over key issues concerning portfolio development and job hunting for new designers--all questions that were based on feedback from members like YOU.

Additionally, we'll be announcing the details of our latest Sketch Contest. Our last one was a little bit disorganized, but the few submissions we got were awesome, so we hope it'll inspire some more of you to enter this next one. Curious about the topic? Well, we'd like you to come hear more about it at the meeting, but if you're really that excited, then here's a hint.

That's all for now. Hope to see you this Wednesday, October 8th at 1PM in FA 163!

-Eugene Wong, IDSA SFSU
