Welcome to HSA!

Dear students,

The History Students Association, in its current incarnation, was created in 2005 in order to facilitate communication between history students and the faculty, enhance the history learning experience, further the goals of history students, and for social interaction and entertainment among history students.

In addition to regular meetings, HSA holds many events - like movie nights - throughout the year. All students with an interest in history - not just history majors - are encouraged to join us.

Members are welcome to become further involved by going to meetings, running for office, or volunteering as an event coordinator. Our elections occur yearly and everyone - officer or no - has a voice in our organization.

10/10 Workshop for students interested in grad school at 3:30 in SCI 270.
10/15 Movie day w/ free grub! Star Wars, SCI 270 at 4:00, Hosted by Prof. Rodriguez
10/27-11/07 Ex Post Facto deadline - 4PM in the EPF mailbox, History dept.
10/13 Prof. Waldrep speaks on the 14th Amendment from 4:00-5:30 at HSS 361
10/15 Application deadline for spring admission to SFSU History Masters program.
10/20 Last day to register to vote.
10/27-11/07 Early Priority Registration Period
10/28 Lecture: "The Golden Game: The Story of California Baseball" at 7:30 pm at St. Philip's Church.
10/31 Halloween Party, with a historical costume contest, a screening of Sweeney Todd, and historical perspectives on Halloween.
11/04 Election Day - Go vote!!
11/07 HSA Meeting at 2:00 in SCI 270.
11/11 Veteran's Day, no classes.
11/13 HSA Meeting at 11:30 in SCI 270.
11/13-15 Conference: 'Recovering Afghanistan's Past' at UC Berkeley in conjunction with the Asian Art Museum of SF.
11/14 Workshop for students interested in grad school at 3:30 in SCI 270.
11/15 Exhibition: "Leonardo da Vinci: Drawings from the Biblioteca Real in Turin" at the Legion of Honor.
11/24-28 Thanksgiving, no classes.
11/25 Lecture: "The Bells of San Francisco: The History of the Salvation Army" at 7:30 at St. Philip's Church.
10/27-11/07 HSA Meeting at 2:00 in SCI 270
12/04 Fee Payment Deadline
12/05 HSA Meeting at 2:00 in SCI 270

12/11-24 Priority Registration Period
12/15 Last day of regular classes.
