Statement of Purpose
The Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) is comprised of student leaders whoare shaping the pre-health professions programs offered at San Francisco StateUniversity.
Our focus is to assist fellow SFSU students in reaching their healthprofession career goals by providing both the vision and the resources necessaryto organize, guide and manifest a variety of health professions activities oncampus. Specifically, these activities include: 1) undergraduate and post-bacstudent advising, 2) dissemination of timely information by e-mail, 3)coordination of volunteer experiences and internships, 4) creation of a weeklyHealth Professions Speaker Series, 5) creation of an Introduction to HealthProfessions course for freshmen and sophomores, 6) administration of formalpost-bac programs (Pre-Health Professions Certificate Program and the SFSU/UCSFPre-Dental Reapplicant Program), and 7) coordination of the informal post-bacprogram.
HPAC welcomes new members and interns from the SFSU student population.
