THE 18 MIGHTY MOUNTAIN WARRIORS!
"The World's Most Suicidal Asian American Skit Comedy Group"
 (Updated 4/16/03)
Various captioned photos of the Warriors doing different things. To go the the official web page of the 18 Mighty Mountain Warriors  click HERE.
For those of you not in the know, the 18 Mighty Mountain Warriors is an Asian American Comedy Group that has been performing and making waves for the last 3 years.  We're kind of an Asian American "Monty Python" or "Saturday Night Live."   18MMW was born out of the ashes of Godzilla Theater,  a comedy group created by actor Greg Watanabe at the Asian American Theater Company.  Godzilla Theater died after 8 months, and the 18 Mighty Mountain Warriors was formed with the conscious intent of not repeating the mistakes of Godzilla theater. We did our first couple of shows at the Asian American Theater but then struck out on our own.  Since then, we've done 7 all-new material shows, traveled to Hong Kong twice, and toured throughout the country including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We are currently developing a film treatment for possible production, and are editing a short video based on one of our skits, "A John Woo Family Dinner" (by Valiant Chow).   Eventually we hope to make it into tv and film.
Our ultimate goals are 3-pronged, and are Commercial, Artistic, and Political:  Commercially, we want to make oodles of money; artistically, we want to become innovators of skit comedy;  we don't want to be seen as just a freak-show Asian American comedy group, but very vital comedy artists unto ourselves; and politically we want to diversify the images of Asian Americans in the media, and we want to show people that Asian Americans can be funny and that we can write our own material.  Below, you can click to see some photos of the 18 MMW, as well as check out our upcoming performance schedule and our performance history. If you want to see the skits I've written for the 18 MMW, I have several online in my "Writing" area.
