| To raise money for activities and scholarships, HMS sold donated items at a garage sale which lasted for the weekend. Many people donated to help HMS raise money, even a couple neighbors that walked by. |

HMS was honored to take a tour and tasting at the historic Sears Fine Food. The tour included a behind the scenes look at the kitchen which contained the secret batter mix used to make their specialty pancakes. |
The purpose of scholarships is to reward deserving students who have excelled in academic achievement as well as contributions to extracurricular activities in hospitality management. Funding is provided by hosting various fundraisers put together by HMS members.

| After a semester full of hotel tours, restaurant tours, social events and fundraisers, HMS celebrated with a farewell BBQ for graduating members and beginning for the officers of the next term.

| After working long hours to make the Taste of the Bay fundraiser successful, the committee had their celebration dinner at Cliff House. Dr. Janet Sim, Hospitality Department Chair, Karen Kaupke, Advisory Board President, and Dean Nancy Hayes, Dean of the College of Business, were honored with framed and signed posters from the event. |
