Knowledge of Public Administration
In 1997, I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a double major in Political Science and Sociology. Early on at UCLA, I decided to pursue a path where I could understand societal needs, government agencies, public policy and ultimately contribute to the community in which I live.
After gaining practical experience in nonprofit –government partnerships, I decided to pursue an MPA at SFSU. Through this advanced education, I learned to merge the theoretical, academic skills with the professional skills of budgeting, professional presentations, financial management and research methods. This knowledge provided me with the base and structure to continue my work as a community service provider.
